New Hampshire's story is carried by its people — political leaders, writers, inventors, athletes, and community builders. This chapter is intentionally cautious: 603Local will only name a person as 'of New Hampshire' when the connection — born here, lived here, built something here — is verified against a reliable source.
A few widely documented examples to anchor the section during review: Daniel Webster, the statesman and orator, was born in Salisbury, New Hampshire. Inventor Dean Kamen, founder of DEKA Research & Development and of the advanced-manufacturing institute now in Manchester's millyard, has made the city a base for his work (see the chapter on ARMI and BioFabUSA).
Rather than publish a long list of loosely attributed names, this chapter should grow deliberately, adding each notable resident only with a clear, cited connection to the state. Suggestions from the community are welcome and will be checked before they appear.
